Jennie Garth and Her Girls on Cookie
We've been watching Jennie Garth on television for nearly twenty years -- first as the iconic Kelly Taylor in Beverly Hills, 90210 then as older sister Valerie Tyler on What I Like About You. This month the 37-year-old mother of three is featured on the cover of Cookie magazine along with daughters Luca, 12, Lola, 6, and Fiona, 3.
Some highlights from the issue:
On building a strong family base for her girls:
"We're always together, maybe to a fault! We like to be together, I think more than most child psychologists or even my mother would say is healthy. But there will come a time when they don't want to be with me, so I'm reveling in it now."
On disciplining three girls of varies ages:
"I had to give my 6-year-old four time-outs two days ago. She kept hitting. I don't spank, though sometimes I think, These time-outs aren't working! What's next? [I aim for] consistency, and not making idle threats. They have to know there are consequences for violence, name-calling, and not doing household chores. They're all in such different places, but all those places require boundaries."
On how pregnancy was a considered a career-killer early in her career:
"There weren't many actresses willing to have kids, because they thought it would jeopardize their career or their desirability. There was an actress on an Aaron Spelling soap opera who got sued for getting pregnant. I got pregnant right after her, while I was on an Aaron Spelling show. But I knew he'd be supportive."
On suffering from mommy brain:
"It's almost like I have some kind of disorderâ"I don't remember the good things... or the bad."
On how she juggles acting work and motherhood:
"When you're a full-time mom and you work a few days here and there, it's hard to pace yourself. I want to know what my kids are eating for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I want to know how much activity they've had in a day. It's difficult to keep it all in order."
On how she compares herself to other celebrity moms:
"I think, this lady has all of this time to do amazing stuff. She has this amazing marriage. Everything in her life sounds perfect. My life is not like that."

Heidi Klum Is the Face of the Key to the Cure Campaign
Heidi Klum has been cast as the 2009 ambassabor of Saks' Key to the Cure campaign to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Klum is partnering with Project Runway judge Michael Kors in a series of ads featuring the expectant mom in a limited edition Kors designed t-shirt. The ads will appear magazines in September and October with the shirts hitting shelves on October 1.
Each shirt will retail for $40 with a part of the proceeds going to local charity partners.
For Kors, it is a cause close to his hart with many people in his family and friends affected by the disease.
âThe number of advances have been pretty remarkable in the last few years, and I think that keeping the noise about the situation up is so important,â Kors said. âIf this is a way that I can give back and at the same time design something that perhaps makes you feel a little glamorous and puts a bit of a smile on your face, it is a triple win-win.â
âItâs important that we all work continuously to find the cure for cancer and to find answers,â Klum said. âThis yearâs T-shirt is fabulous and not just because Michael, my fashion inspiration and great friend, designed it. Itâs fun and comfortable and really a great gift for yourself or a family member or friend that you can give to support a very worthy cause.â
In addition to the t-shirt launch, Saks is organizing a special charity shopping weekend around the campaign from October 15 - 18. For all sales over the weekend, the stores plan to donate 2 percent of sales up to $250,000 to local and national womenâs cancer organizations and research centers. Saks will be making an additional $500,000 contribution to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Over the past 10 years, these shopping weekends have generated more than $32 million toward cancer research.
Klum and Kors join a lengthy list of celebrities and designers who have participated in this special campaign. Last years Key to the Cure Campaign featured fellow celebrity mom Gwyneth Paltrow in a specially designed Karl Lagerfeld T-shirt.
