Avril Lavigne updated fans on her official web site on Monday (April 27) after a special day last week at Vancouver’s Centre for Performing Arts. The pop singer writes:
On Friday, I was in Vancouver and honored as the Canadian Ambassador for 2010 World Expo, Shanghai, China. It’s really exciting as it’s the first time China has ever hosted World Expo and the theme is “Better City, Better Lifeâ€. It’s really cool that over 200 countries and international organizations are coming together at World Expo, Shanghai to create a better future for the world. I’ve played 2 shows in Shanghai. It’s a great city and I look forward to visiting again next year.

Avril was chosen because of her immense popularity in China. Maybe if she performs next year, she’ll finally do her song “Girlfriend†in Mandarin, like she was rumored to do last year on the Best Damn Tour.
